HISTORY |

The National Electrical Contractors
Association was founded in 1901, and this Chapter was
chartered in 1950. NECA represents, promotes and
advances the interests of the electrical contracting
industry, of all its branches, and the public it serves.
Listed below are just a few
of the reasons electrical contractors felt the need to
form NECA:
To
provide opportunities to meet for mutual education
and to uncover potentials for increasing business. |
To
speak for the electrical contracting industry and
represent its interests before legislative
assemblies, governmental agencies, and other
bodies. |
To
promote harmonious labor management relations and
provide for the orderly settlement of labor
disputes.
To
cooperate in training efforts, worker safety,
development of the National Electric Code and
informing the public about the importance of safe
wiring. |
To
promote sound business management practices and
economic conditions throughout the industry. |
